Working with foreign students of AUPET

During the period of quarantine measures, due to the pandemic, some foreign students from near and far abroad were forced to stay in Kazakhstan. For them, events were held to provide technical support for further education and living conditions in the University dormitory. At the request of the Department of International Cooperation (DICAM), students from the university were allocated sanitary and protective equipment (sanitizers and protective masks), provided food baskets, and food packages for the Eid al-Adha. Staff of the Department of international cooperation provided students with timely renewal of registration of location and visas in the migration authorities of the city.

The international Department organized and held a video meeting with Rector Sagintayeva S. S. and Vice-rectors Konshin S. V. and Makhmutov S. K., where students told about their problems, living conditions in the dormitory, and expressed concern about providing medical care. At the request of a student from Yemen (student Anas Nasser), with the support of DICAM, his transfer from the specialty "Electric Power Engineering" of the IEPEE to the second year of the specialty "Information Security Systems" of IMSIT was approved and made. Regarding the provision of medical services, DICAM employees, having considered the offers on the market for providing medical insurance services, offered the University management to provide students from abroad (from Jordan and Yemen) with a package of medical insurance (NSK JSC), for which contracts were agreed and signed between the AUPET and NSK JSC, and payment was made from the University's own funds. Responsible persons (Vice-rector for educational work, Directors of institutes, Financial Director) conduct control visits to the places of residence of students in dormitories No. 2, 3. The sick students were provided with timely medical care by the University's medical staff. By the order of the Financial Director, the maintenance service carried out cleaning and sanitary treatment of residential premises of students with signs of an infectious disease at the expense of the University.

DICAM employees maintain constant communication with foreign students located in Kazakhstan and in places of residence outside the Republic (telephone, social networks, WhatsApp, e-mail). Contacts have been established with representatives of diplomatic missions of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the countries where AUPET students are located under academic mobility agreements to ensure timely registration of citizens of Kazakhstan abroad, inform students about registration in places of residence and opportunities for returning home.
